"This is a *UNIQUE* version of this printer. It is physically the same as teh Datamax Prodigy Plus 152 dpi, but has only the lessor resolution. There is NO THERMAL RIBBON TRANSFER ASSEMBLY. It was never installed during manufacturing. These were special order and optimized for FedEx label printing. We do not have the transfer assembly or know if it's even installable.This item is a good source for mechanical parts for servicing or can be used to print basic labels when combined with the Label Matrix software. A good deal for a heavy duty printer. The U501's power drive mode allows it to deliver print speeds up to eight inches per second.
